Holiday Cookie Recipe Exchange

I was at Bunco last night with all of my gal pals and we played Dirty Santa. I am now a proud owner of a platter that has "cookies" written on it. The back of it had the cutest little poem about how it is a "traveling cookie platter". Well, I am just not yet willing to be giving my platter to even my closest of friends (sorry), full of cookies, in fear that I won't get my platter back. Sooooo, I was thinking about doing a cookie recipe exchange on my blog today.

I'm sure it's not a new idea and that someone else out there is doing it or has done it, but I was proud of this little pitiful brain of mine to even come up with the idea. Soooo, without futher ado....

Please link up to my post (using MckLinky) and post your favorite holiday cookie recipe, or two, or three... you get the idea!! I can't wait to see all of the great recipes that we get on this post & that we can try at home this holiday season. 'Tis the season!!

Hey girl! I don't have a post about holiday baking yet. Heck, I don't even have my Halloween decorations down yet! But, every year Kyndal and I make little preztzel things with melted hershey kisses on top and an m&m squished into it. I have no idea what they are called. And I bought some cute sugar cookie dough at Aldi for $1.99 with green Christmas trees already in the dough when you cut it! They also had ALREADY MIXED red and green frosting for $1.29 a tub AND the CUTEST sprinkles with candy canes, gingerbread men, holly and snow flakes for just a couple of dollars. Brynne and I are going to bake those cookies this weekend. Well do it while Rick is gone so we don't blow his diet.

I'll post holiday baking pics when we do it, your linky just might be expired by then.

Have fun!

Nicole

Chocolate Gooey Butter Cookies (by Paula Deen)

Ingredients

* 1 (8-ounce) brick cream cheese, room temperature
* 1 stick butter, at room temperature
* 1 egg
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 (18-ounce) box moist chocolate cake mix
* Confectioners' sugar, for dusting

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large bowl with an electric mixer, cream the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Beat in the egg. Then beat in the vanilla extract. Beat in the cake mix. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours to firm up so that you can roll the batter into balls. Roll the chilled batter into tablespoon sized balls and then roll them in confectioner's sugar. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake 12 minutes. The cookies will remain soft and "gooey." Cool completely and sprinkle with more confectioners' sugar, if desired.
